Jurgen Klopp agrees to bring Kylian Mbappe to Liverpool

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp admits he is interested in bringing Kylian Mbappe to Anfield. However, Klopp believes that the Reds will not be able to compete with Real Madrid to secure the French player's signature.

As is known, Kylian Mbappe has entered the end of his contract with Paris Saint-Germain (PSG). The 23-year-old player is getting closer to a move to Los Blancos as a free agent.

Reports in Spain claim Liverpool had approached Mbappe. However, the efforts of the Premier League giants were a bit late. Mbappe is actually flattered by Liverpool's interest. Even so, he seems to prefer to move to Spain.

"Of course we are interested in Kylian Mbappe, we are not blind. We like him (Mbappe) and if you don't like him then you have to ask yourself," Klopp said of his interest in Mbappe.

“But no, we cannot be a part of this battle. There are definitely other clubs involved and that's good. He (Mbappe) is a great player," continued the German coach, as reported by Metro.

Paris Saint-Germain is actually not willing to let Kylian Mbappe go. Les Parisiens have sought to extend Mbappe's stay by offering the star player a hefty salary.

The Mirror also claim PSG will offer an annual salary of £21m, which sees Mbappe earn more than £400,000 a week, if he is willing to put his signature on his new deal with Les Parisiens.

Unfortunately, Paris Saint-Germain and Liverpool now have to bury their dream of hiring Kylian Mbappe next season. The former AS Monaco player is confirmed to have sealed a deal with Real Madrid. The player has also reportedly turned down an offer to play for Liverpool.

Citing Metro reports, Mbappe recently spoke about his future at PSG. The France international admits he has made a decision and will announce it in the near future.

"That (decision on my future) will be known soon, almost done. My decision has been made. You have to respect all parties," Mbappe said on Sunday, as reported by Metro.

“I know that people expect a lot from me. It is reasonable. I'm in a hurry too, but it's not just about me. It's finished now, there are only a few details left," concluded the 1998-born player about the continuation of his career.

Mbappe is indeed an important player for PSG. He has been an integral figure behind his club's success in the French League this season. He played a role as a goalscoring machine that solidified the position of Les Parisiens at the top of the standings.

According to Metro, Mbappe has recorded 168 goals from a total of 216 appearances this season. Mbappe also has brilliant achievements with PSG.

Throughout his five-year career in the French capital, the former AS Monaco player has won four league titles. He was also successfully named Ligue 1 Player of the Year and top scorer in France in the last two seasons.

Not only having an impact on PSG, Mbappe's decision to join Real Madrid will inevitably cause disappointment for the Liverpool camp. The reason is, the club which is in second place in the Premier League standings is trying to refresh the composition of its squad.

Their flagship trident, Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino will also enter the final year of his contract at Anfield.

Pochettino says Kylian Mbappe will stay at PSG

Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) star Kylian Mbappe has long been linked with Real Madrid. The 23-year-old is rumored to be ready to move to the La Liga giants after his contract at the Parc des Princes expires.

However, Real Madrid's transfer plan seems to be facing big obstacles. PSG coach Mauricio Pochettino said there was an opportunity for Kylian Mbappe to stay at Les Parisiens next season.

For information, Mbappe's contract with Paris Saint-Germain will expire in June this year. The party has yet to seal a new agreement, in order to extend the stay of the French player.

Real Madrid is known to have worked hard to bring in Mbappe as a free agent in the upcoming transfer window. Pochettino's claims about the player's future will inevitably be a big blow for Los Blancos.

On the other hand, Pochettino also dismissed speculation about the continuation of his career with PSG. The Argentine coach was previously widely rumored to be expelled from the Parc des Princes after the 2021/2022 season for failing to take PSG far in the Champions League.

“100 percent (there is a possibility) for both cases. This is how I feel today, what I feel right now. That's all I can say," Pochettino said when asked about PSG's chances of retaining their position
